Hi! I'm Irina, a visual storyteller from Bucharest, Romania. Since 2005 I've been crafting projects for startups and corporate clients from Europe and the USA.
At my core I am a problem-solver. I love organising information and coming up with creative ways to convey a message. I do that for everything, whether it's a complex animation for a big client or just a social media post.
I always try to learn and add more tools under my belt. Besides my creative skils (graphic and motion design, animation, illustration), over the years I've added programming, management, photography and creative writing. I use them all to make visuals perfectly tailored to my client's needs.
I started as a teenager passionate about science and art and involved in children’s rights activism. My first job as a designer was at 15, editing and designing Save the Children's national youth magazine.
I kept making creative projects and working as a designer and animator, while earning a CS degree and an MA in Project Management. I was a manager for 5 years before fully dedicating the last 15 years to creative freelance work.
As a freelancer I feel I can perfectly mix what I call the guiding trio of my story: creative experience, technical training and civic engagement. I can express my creativity, take care of the business and technical side with ease and shape the image of projects and topics I care about.
Since 2009, I share a boutique creative studio with Andrei Vasilescu, my wonderful husband and partner in all. Life as a freelancer is not easy or predictable, you always have to adapt, grow and perfect. So I am happy I didn't have to do it alone.
Together we crafted custom projects for companies in all fields: high-tech, health, retail, education & culture and many others. You can find us at our freshly rebranded studio - Storygraphica Studio.
In my spare time I lean more into storytelling. I write, illustrate and animate stories about everyday life. And each time I feel inspired I send out my illustrated Mondays Postcard Newsletter. On Mondays, of course :)
